Synopsis

After taking over the family business in the early 1980s, David Sconce sought to exploit the deceased in numerous ways to expand earnings – ultimately engaging in years of morally questionable and macabre practices, including mass cremations and stealing from the dead. Featuring exclusive interviews with Sconce and the families of the victims, this darkly gripping three-part docuseries illuminates what can happen behind closed doors in the lucrative and ubiquitous multibillion-dollar mortuary industry.
