Synopsis

Uptight, workaholic and strong-willed, Jackie (Academy Award winner Helen Hunt) is the ultimate New York professional. An editor of The New Yorker magazine, she is appalled to hear that her son (Brenton Thwaites) has dropped out of college and taken off to Los Angeles to pursue his twin passions: writing and surfing. Unable to relinquish control, Jackie follows him to LA, where she befriends a limo driver (David Zayas), begins a relationship with a sexy young surf instructor (Luke Wilson) and starts to finally understand and connect with her son.
